Persuasive speeches focus on forcing the audience to change the way it thinks and feels.

TRUE OR FALSE

I just wanted to double check on this, because I don't think you are for say "forcing" them to think differently, but giving them the info to let them possibly change their mind.

That is a bad question.

The computer that checks your answer may prefer True. But I agree with you that it is False.

ok yeah I don't like the way it is worded. thank you

I don't think it is forcing them to think differently, but more like trying to convince them to agree with your argument on a specific topic, that is the best way I can think to answer your question. I finished my COM classes a while ago. Good luck.

TRUE

You are correct in your understanding. Persuasive speeches aim to influence the thoughts and feelings of the audience, but not by forcibly making them change their views. Instead, the goal is to present compelling arguments, evidence, and reasoning to encourage the audience to reconsider their position or perspective on a particular issue. Persuasive speakers aim to persuade through presenting information, appealing to emotions, and using effective rhetorical techniques, rather than employing force or coercion.
