Meiling and meimei divide $69 to 2 shares.

    let their shares be x and 69-x

    then (3/4)x = (2/5)(69-x)
    cross-multipy , (or multiply both sides by 20)
    15x = 8(69-x)
    15x = 552 - 8x
    23x = 552
    x = 552/23 = 24

    one gets $24 , the other gets 69-24 or $45

    check:
    (3/4)(24) = 18
    (2/5)(45) = 18 , looks good
