3 1/9 * 2 1/4

Change to improper fractions and multiply the numerators together and the denominators together.

Uhmmm That didn't help much.

Ummm! Do you know what all the terms mean in Ms. Sue's reply? If you don't, go here:

Scroll down to Multiplying Fractions and follow directions.

I do but it's 3 numbers in both the fractions, on that website, it's only 2.

I only see two numbers.

(28/9) * (9/4)

Lol noooooo

3 1/9 * 2 1/4
is what I'm trying to solve.

To multiply mixed numbers, you can follow these steps:

Step 1: Convert the mixed numbers into improper fractions.
- 3 1/9 can be converted to an improper fraction as (3 * 9 + 1)/9 = 28/9.
- 2 1/4 can be converted to an improper fraction as (2 * 4 + 1)/4 = 9/4.

Step 2: Multiply the two improper fractions together.
- Multiply the numerators (28 * 9) to get 252.
- Multiply the denominators (9 * 4) to get 36.

Step 3: Simplify the resulting fraction (if possible).
- In this case, 252/36 can be simplified by dividing both the numerator and the denominator by their greatest common divisor, which is 36.
- Dividing both 252 and 36 by 36, we get 7/1.

Therefore, 3 1/9 multiplied by 2 1/4 is equal to 7.
