Hey I'm Kaela, 9th grade and we're required to do a mini personal project.

I can't decide on what to do :/
Anyone help?

I'm interested with models, runways, model photo shoots, etc etc.

:)

Lie down on some butcher paper -- about 6' long -- and have someone trace your outline on it. Then use markers and a variety of items to fill out your features and add clothing (fabrics, feathers, etc.) and items to symbolize your interests (photo of a camera or ??). Once you're finished, you should be able to roll it up to transport it to class.

Use your imagination!!

Hello Kaela! That sounds like a great project idea. Since you're interested in models, runways, and model photo shoots, why not explore the world of fashion photography for your personal project? Here's how you can go about it:

1. Research: Start by researching the basics of fashion photography. Look into the history, famous photographers, different styles and techniques, and the role of a photographer in the fashion industry.

2. Define your focus: Narrow down your project by choosing a specific aspect of fashion photography that you want to explore further. For example, you could focus on the technical aspects of lighting and composition, the process of creating a fashion photoshoot, or even the impact of fashion photography on body image and society.

3. Learn about the equipment: Familiarize yourself with the equipment used in fashion photography. Understand the different types of cameras, lenses, lighting equipment, and post-processing software commonly used by fashion photographers. Consider reaching out to professional photographers or visiting photography studios to learn about their setups.

4. Study famous fashion photographers: Look into the work of famous fashion photographers such as Richard Avedon, Annie Leibovitz, or Mario Testino. Analyze their unique styles, compositions, and techniques. Try to identify what sets their work apart and how they have influenced the industry.

5. Practicing photography: Start practicing your photography skills by taking pictures in a fashion context. Experiment with different lighting setups, locations, and posing techniques. Consider reaching out to aspiring models or friends who are willing to be your subjects for practice shoots.

6. Create a portfolio: As you continue practicing, compile your best photographs into a portfolio. This will showcase your growth and development as a fashion photographer. Aim for a diverse range of images that demonstrate your understanding of different styles and concepts.

7. Present your findings: Once you have gathered enough information and have a collection of photographs, prepare a presentation that summarizes your research, showcases your portfolio, and highlights any insights or conclusions you have discovered throughout the process.

Remember, the most important thing is to enjoy the journey and learn from it. Good luck with your project, Kaela!
