What number must be added to the numerator and denominator of the fraction 7/19 to make the resulting fraction qual to 3/4?

  • Algebra -

    3/4 = 15/20

  • Algebra -

    (7+x) / (19+x) = 3/4,
    Cross multiply:
    28 + 4x = 57 + 3x,
    4x - 3x = 57 - 28,
    X = 29.

    Check: (7+29)/(19+29) = 36/48 = 3/4.
