A lady looks at herself in a concave makeup mirror whose radius is 80cm.One of her eyes is on the axis of the mirror,16cm in front of the vertex.(a)Find the position and magnification of the image of the eye.(b) Is the image real or virtual?erect or inverted?

    The focal length of the missor is R/2 40 cm.

    1/Do + 1/Di = 1/f = 1/40
    Do (object distance) = 16 cm
    1/Di = 1/40 - 1/16 = -0.0375
    Di (image distance) = -26.67 cm (behind the mirror)

    Magnification = 26.67/16 = 1.67

    The image is virtual, and erect.
