Predict the products of a reaction between solid beryllium chloride and solid potassium,write the products in a balanced chemical equation also indicate what type of reaction this is.

    solid, as in powdered, mixed, at room temperature in humid room? What do you think will be the reaction? Potassium is more active than Beryllium.

    Commercially Beryllium is produced with a reaction with mangnesium

    BeF2+ Mg>>MgCl2 + Be
    This is exothermic.

    Caution on all these: Be is hightly toxic, espcially in dusted forms of compounds.
