Please help me

I'm stuck on this one: (5x4)-2=12+
I'll try (5x4)
20-2=12+ answer 18
or (5x4)
20-2=18
12+18=30
Really I don't think either is right

the 2nd one is right

Thank you Ron

(5*4)-2=12+x

20-2=12+x
18=12+x
18=12+6

x=6

I can help you with that! Let's break down the equation step by step to find the correct answer.

The equation given is: (5x4)-2=12+

Step 1: Evaluate the multiplication (5x4).

To multiply 5 by 4, you simply multiply the numbers together:
5 x 4 = 20

Step 2: Substitute the result into the equation:

(5x4)-2=12+
Substituting 20 for (5x4):
20 - 2 = 12+

Step 3: Simplify the left side of the equation by subtracting:

20 - 2 = 18

Step 4: The equation becomes: 18 = 12+

Now, the equation is comparing 18 with 12+. We need to determine what "12+" means.

If there is no additional context to explain what "12+" represents, we can't proceed any further without more information. The "+" sign usually indicates an operation or additional value, but without specifics, it's impossible to determine what that means in this equation.

So, based on the given equation, we can correctly say that: (5x4)-2 = 18, but we don't have enough information to determine the relationship between 18 and 12+.
