5000 = 45t^2 + 240t + 450

change to

45t^2 + 240t - 4550 = 0
divide by 5
9t^2 + 48t - 910 = 0

with those numbers I would now use the formula.
t = (-48 ± √35064)/18
= appr. 7.736 or - 13.070
