Compose a 2 path story of your future. The story which you are going to write must explore 2 choices: what will take place in your future if you don’t gruduate upper secondary school and receive some post-secondary education. And the other part is that what will occur if you end up graduating high school and obtain post-secondary training.

Issues that will be raised at your day and should be addressed in whole or in part in your story are:

- cost of living on your own
-factors that add to your achievement in the workplace
-educational attainment and earning potential
-current skills and talents and your future route
-benefits/opportunities available to those with post-secondary education
-opportunity trade-offs in leaving school before graduation

2 suggestions for the form that your story takes could be in the form of a day in the life or a summation of your life told from an advanced age. You could choose other possibilities if you wish, but keep in mind that there should be two versions: the path taken and the path that could have been taken.

If I don't graduate high school and take some post secondary education, things wouldnt really be as easy, I would receive no credits, no awards. With out a high school diploma, it would be difficult to enter an university. Could I get a GED?

You could get a GED, but without the real high school education, university would be much harder for you.

The scenarios you've been asked to consider are one with post-secondary education and the other without this post-secondary education.

Oh, what is post secondary training?

Is it different than Post secondary education?

Post secondary education and training are about the same. It could include beauty school or medical transcription. It also includes a 4-5 year professional degreee (BS or BA) and further education.

The point this assignment makes is for you to imagine your life without much education and with further education.

Okay, that makes sense:)

Thanks so much Ms. Sue:)

You're welcome, Sara.

I appreciate your story prompt! Let's explore two paths for my future based on the choices I make regarding my education and post-secondary training.

Path 1: Not Graduating High School and Lack of Post-Secondary Education
If I don't graduate high school and don't pursue any post-secondary education, my future might be challenging. Without a high school diploma, it could be difficult for me to find stable employment or enter a university directly. However, all hope is not lost. Considering my situation, obtaining a General Education Development (GED) certificate could be a viable option.

Getting a GED is an alternative path if one doesn't complete high school. It is a test that assesses knowledge and skills equivalent to a high school diploma. By successfully passing the GED exam, I can demonstrate my academic abilities and increase my chances of pursuing further education or finding better job opportunities.

Path 2: Graduating High School and Post-Secondary Training
Alternatively, let's consider the path where I do graduate high school and obtain post-secondary education. This choice offers more opportunities and benefits. With a high school diploma, I have a solid academic foundation that opens doors to various career paths.

After high school, I decide to pursue post-secondary training in a chosen field or enroll in a college or university. In this scenario, I'll gain specialized knowledge and skills that increase my chances of success in the workplace. My educational attainment will demonstrate commitment and dedication to acquiring expertise in a particular field.

By completing post-secondary education, I enhance my earning potential. Studies have shown a positive correlation between higher educational attainment and higher income levels. Additionally, a post-secondary degree often serves as a requirement for certain professions, which provides greater career options and advancement opportunities.

Considering the factors mentioned earlier, such as the cost of living, skills and talents, and workplace achievement, graduating high school and obtaining post-secondary education offers greater benefits and opportunities. This path provides a solid foundation for personal growth, career development, and financial stability.

Ultimately, the choices and opportunities available to me depend on my dedication to education, commitment to personal growth, and passion for achieving my career goals. Whether I follow the path of not graduating high school or pursue post-secondary education, it's important to understand the trade-offs and consequences of each decision.
