Carl had packed 6 crates by 8 a.m. By 11 a.m., he had packed 24 crates. Find the average rate of change in crates packed from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

  • College Algebra -

    6 crates by 8 am
    24 crates by 11 am

Aver rate of change = change in crates packed/change in time

    Aver rate of change = (24 - 6)/(11 - 8)
    Aver rate of change = 18/3 = 6 crates/hr
