can someone give me 2 cons for being a game designer

#1. How many game designer jobs are there out there?
#2. Would you be happy being trained only for this ... and then discover later that you'd have to go back to school to prepare for a different job if you couldn't get one of these ... or had to change?
My suggestion: Major in arts and graphic arts. You'll be more versatile.
