It is easy to see a drop of water on the print of a glossy magazine but it is difficult to see it on the white area of the same page. Explain why.

  • Physics -

A drop of water will not easily be absorbed by glossy paper.

The drop will remain on the surface and act as a lens, changing the appearance of the print beneath it.

If there is only a uniform color area below, there is no way to tell that refraction has occurred.
