the base of a triangle is 4dm longer than its altitude, and its area is16dm^2. Find the lengths of the base and its altitude.

  • geometry -

    A = 1/2 bh

    h = altitude
    h + 4 = base

    16 = 1/2 (h + 4)h
    Solve for h
