Ack! Carefully check your spelling, Marcie!

To find out what part of a region is shaded, you need to know what part is not shaded. In this case, you know that 1/5 of the region is not shaded.

To determine the shaded part, subtract the fraction that is not shaded from the whole region. Since 1/5 is not shaded, the shaded part would be the complement of 1/5.

The complement of a fraction is found by subtracting the fraction from 1. In other words, 1 - 1/5 = 4/5.

Therefore, 4/5 of the region is shaded.
