I am trying to find out how to find the slope for x+12=y and y-x=-8, and also to find out if they are parellel.

  • Math -

    change to slope-intercept form:
    y=mx+b
    where m=slope and b=y-intercept
    y=(1)x+12
    y=(1)x-8

    they are parallel if their "m" or slope equals
