The sentences, "Lee gave the ball to Lynne" and "Lynne received the ball from Lee," have the same:
surface and deep structures.
Does this sentence have both surface and deep structure? From reading my text book, I believe it does, but Im a little confused.
I don't know the technical term, but the first sentence has a verb in the active mode; the second one is passive.
It is A. Surface strucure.
I made a mistake. Both verbs are active.
Now I am a little confused...was my first option right?
This sounds more like English than psychology. The first verb is active and the second is passive. However, English is not my area of expertise.
