exponents means to multiply by itself,, thus:
(A) (-1)^3 = (-1)(-1)(-1) = ?
*solve for this.

(B) here, only 1 is raised by 3,, the negative sign (or the -1) is excluded:
-(1)^3 = -(1)(1)(1) = ?

(C) process is same as that of letter (A)
(D) process is same as that of letter (B)

hope this helps.
