Given the GCF or LCM, what else do you know about each pair of numbers?

a) Two numbers have GCF of 2.
b) Two numbers have an LCM of 2.

Please and thankyou!

google "greatest common factor" and "lowest common denominator"

I'm sure if you know what they are, then you'll be able to answer parts a) and b).

Here are two excellent sites for learning about GCF and LCM.

a) If two numbers have a greatest common factor (GCF) of 2, it means that 2 is the largest positive integer that divides both numbers without leaving a remainder.

b) If two numbers have a least common multiple (LCM) of 2, it means that 2 is the smallest positive integer that is divisible by both numbers.

a) If two numbers have a greatest common factor (GCF) of 2, it means that 2 is the largest positive integer that divides both of the numbers evenly. In other words, when you find the factors of both numbers, the only common factor they have is 2. The numbers themselves can have other factors as well, but 2 will always be a common factor between them.

b) If two numbers have a least common multiple (LCM) of 2, it means that 2 is the smallest positive integer that is divisible by both of the numbers. In other words, when you find the multiples of both numbers, 2 will be the smallest common multiple between them. The numbers themselves can have other multiples as well, but 2 will always be a common multiple between them.
