What is the kinetic energy of a 26 kg dog that is running at a speed of 8.4 m/s (about 19 mi/h)?
Ke = .5mv^2 so the ke is .5(26)(8.4^2)= 917.28
Can you calculate
Kinetic Energy = (1/2) M V^2 ?
The answer will be in Joules if you use the right units for M and V.
A microwave oven has a power requirement of 1235 W. A frozen dinner requires 6.0 min to heat on full power.
(a) How much electrical energy (in kWh) is used?
(b) If the cost of electricity is 12 cents per kWh, how much does it cost to heat the dinner?
