a) show a balanced neutralization reaction for each.

b) Determine how many moles of base are needed to neutralize 2 mles of acid of these reactions. Can you show me the work, using the mole ratio ??

HNO3 + KOH --
H2SO4 + NaOH --

  • chemistry -

in the first KOH and HNO3, balance
    KOH+HNO3>>KNO3 + H2O
it takes one mole of acid for each mole of base, so to neutralize two moles of acid, it takes two moles of KOH.
    In the second, balance,
H2SO4 + 2NaOH>> 2H2O + Na2SO4, so it takes two moles of base to neutralize one mole of acid.
