Are these an alcohol, phenol, an ether or a thiol.
CH3--CH2--CH2--SH
CH3--CH2--CH--CH2--CH3

Any help is appreciated, I am trying to get the hang of this.If I know these two, I believe I will be able to do all the other ones I have to. Thanks.

The first one is a thiol. Thiols are the analogues of alcohols; i.e., alcohols are R-OH and thiols are R-SH.
The second one doesn't have a functional group. I think carbon atom #3 from the left is missing something because the C doesn't have four bonds.

    Thank you.

On the second one I forgot to put an O--CH3 over the CH

    O--CH3
    CH3--CH2--CH--CH2--CH3

Does anyone know the functional group of the following? Thank you.

    OH CH3
    CH3--C--CH2--CH--CH3
    CH3

I suppose you can see now that the board doesn't recognize spacing more than one space at a time> At any rate, wherever C-O-C bond is located, it is an ether.
