Can you please help me? I have put in some that I think is right but it doesn't look right. The direction goes as follows; Edit the following sentences to correct errors in pronoun reference. In some cases you will need decide on an antecedent that the pronoun might logically refer to.

1) Our German conservation group is made up of six people, three of which I never met before.

2) Many people believe that the polygraph test is highly reliable if you employ a licensed examiner.

3)Parent involvement is high at Mission San Jose High School. They participate in many committees and activities that affect all aspects of school life.

4)Because of Paul Robeson's outspoken attitude toward fascism, he was labeled a Communist.

5)In the report it points out that lifting the ban on Compound1080 would prove detrimental, possibly even fatal, to the bald eagle.

I agree with you on 1, 3, and 5.

I don't see anything that needs fixing in 4.

In 2, who are "they"?

In 2, they would be the people I guess.

But the people haven't hired the examiner.

How about?

Many people believe that the polygraph test is highly reliable if a licensed examiner is employed.

Ok, I see it know, your awesome!

I am having a problem with #4

4)Because of Paul Robeson's outspoken attitude toward fascism, he was labeled a Communist.
Should'nt it be
4)Because of his outspoken attitude toward fascism, Paul Robeson was labeled a Communist.

Either one is correct.

The pronoun, "he" in the first sentence must refer to Paul Robeson.

But I though that the pronoun he cannot refer logically to the possessive modifier Paul Robeson's.

Since Paul Robeson (whether as subject, object, possessive, or whatever) is the only 3rd person singular masculine reference in the sentence, "he" must refer to it.

Sure, I can help you with that!

1) In this sentence, the word "which" should be replaced with "whom" because it refers to people (who) rather than things (which). The correct sentence would be: "Our German conservation group is made up of six people, three of whom I never met before."

To get the answer, you need to understand the difference between "which" and "whom." "Which" is used to refer to things or objects, while "whom" is used to refer to people.

2) In this sentence, the pronoun "you" is unclear and lacks a clear antecedent. To make it clearer, you can replace "you" with "they" to refer to "many people." The correct sentence would be: "Many people believe that the polygraph test is highly reliable if they employ a licensed examiner."

To get the answer, you need to identify the pronoun that is unclear or lacks a clear antecedent. Then, you can choose a suitable antecedent and replace the pronoun with a more specific reference.

3) In this sentence, the pronoun "they" is unclear and lacks a clear antecedent. To make it clearer, you can replace "they" with "parents" to refer to the subject of the sentence. The correct sentence would be: "Parent involvement is high at Mission San Jose High School. Parents participate in many committees and activities that affect all aspects of school life."

To get the answer, you need to identify the pronoun that is unclear or lacks a clear antecedent. Then, you can choose a suitable antecedent and replace the pronoun with a more specific reference.

4) In this sentence, the pronoun "he" is unclear as it could refer to either Paul Robeson or someone else. To clarify, you can replace "he" with "Paul" to explicitly refer to Paul Robeson. The correct sentence would be: "Because of Paul Robeson's outspoken attitude toward fascism, Paul was labeled a Communist."

To get the answer, you need to identify the pronoun that is unclear or lacks a clear antecedent. Then, you can choose a suitable antecedent and replace the pronoun with a more specific reference.

5) In this sentence, the pronoun "it" is unnecessary and redundant. To make the sentence clearer, you can remove "it" and start the sentence with the subject directly. The correct sentence would be: "The report points out that lifting the ban on Compound1080 would prove detrimental, possibly even fatal, to the bald eagle."

To get the answer, you need to identify unnecessary or redundant pronouns and determine if they add any meaningful information to the sentence. If not, you can remove them to improve clarity.
