I need help!!

Find the perimeters and areas of rectangle

The base is 8m and one side is 5m.

Do i just add up one of the side however it said the area??

perimeter=8+5+8+5=26m

area=8*5=40m

Thanks BOB, u have helped me in the past..Thanks a lot..

To find the perimeter of a rectangle, you need to add up all four sides. In this case, since you are given the base (8m) and one side (5m), you can determine the other side by using the fact that opposite sides of a rectangle are equal in length. Therefore, the other side would also be 5m.

To calculate the perimeter, add up all four sides:
Perimeter = 8m + 5m + 8m + 5m = 26m

Now let's move on to calculating the area. The formula for the area of a rectangle is length multiplied by width. In this case, the length is 8m and the width is 5m. Therefore, the area can be calculated as follows:

Area = length x width
Area = 8m x 5m = 40 square meters.

So, the perimeter of the rectangle is 26m, and the area is 40 square meters.
