I did an exercise in the MyWritingLab and it will not let me take a screen shot of it. Can anyone tell me how to copy it. I could not even select all or anything.

Hi Mary,

There should be a button at the top of the keyboard that says: PrtSc. This button will take a screen shot of the exercise you have completed. Then you may go into a word document and press control v to paste the screen shot. I hope that this helps.

I tried to do this but it did not work. Do I have to hit shift & prtsc or just prtsc?

The shift button is not required to carry out this action. Simply press and hold the print screen button for a second. If you are still having difficulties let me know.

You might want to try pressing the Alt key and the PrtSc key simultaneously.

If you're unable to take a screenshot or select the content from MyWritingLab, there are a few alternative methods you can try to copy the exercise. Here are a few suggestions:

1. Copy and paste: You can try to copy and paste the content of the exercise directly into a text document or a word processing program. Highlight the text, right-click, and select "Copy," then open a blank document and right-click again and select "Paste."

2. Print to PDF: If you have a PDF printer installed on your computer, you can print the exercise to PDF. Open the exercise, go to the print option (usually found in the menu or by pressing Ctrl+P), and select the PDF printer as your printing option. This will save the exercise as a PDF file that you can access and refer to later.

3. Use a browser extension: There are browser extensions or add-ons available (e.g., Fireshot, Nimbus, Awesome Screenshot) that allow you to capture the entire webpage or specific sections as an image. Install one of these extensions, navigate to the exercise page, and use the extension's features to capture the content as an image.

4. Take a photo with another device: If you have access to another device like a smartphone or tablet, you can take a photo of the screen displaying the exercise. Once you've taken the photo, you can transfer and save it on your computer for future reference.
