how do i find the area of a circle with a diameter of 2mi

i really need help im a 7th grader and i wanna know how yhu do the area of a circle.

The area A of a circle is usually given in terms of the radius, r as

A = πr²

Engineers usually measure the diameter of a circle/cylinder to find the area, so they use a formula expressed in terms of the diameter, d:
A = πd²/4

Both with give the same answer. In your case, the diameter is 2 mi (miles).
If you apply the second formula, the area you get will be in terms of square miles.

To find the area of a circle, you can use the formula A = πr^2, where A represents the area and r represents the radius of the circle. In this case, we are given the diameter, which is the distance across the circle passing through its center.

To find the radius, you can divide the diameter by 2. In this case, the diameter is 2 miles, so the radius would be 2/2 = 1 mile.

Now that we have the radius, we can substitute it into the formula. The value of π is approximately 3.14.

A = πr^2
A = 3.14 * (1 mile)^2
A = 3.14 * 1 square mile
A = 3.14 square miles

Therefore, the area of a circle with a diameter of 2 miles is approximately 3.14 square miles.
