5a+6b/2 minus 5a+6b/2 The answer is suppose to be 6b. When I try and solve it I keep getting 0 for my answer.

if you really have what you wrote, it is zero. Are you certain it is not this...
5a+6b/2  (5a6b/2)? That yields 6b
