solve for r

There is a right triangle with the hypotenuse as r , the angle as 45 degrees and opposite side as 20.

I am having a hard time finding this out. I had tan 45 = 1.61 20(1.61) = 32.4 but this is wrong.

are you solving for r?

In an isoceleses right triangle, of angles 45-45-90, the hypontense is side*sqrt2

In your case, r=20*1.41=28.2

Your tangent of 45 degrees is wrong, it is tangent45=1
