im not quite sure what to do with this problem...

the info I have:
-balanced equation= (CuCl2*2H20)=>CuCl2+2H2O
-initial mass of copper compound: 0.94g

Q: use stiochiometry to find the theoretical yield for the mass of copper (II) chloride

we also used 30mL of water in our experiment if that helps
thank you!

This is one type of stoichiometry problem; all of this kind are worked the same way.

Write the equation and balance it. You have that.

Convert 0.94 (if that is the starting material) to moles. moles = grams/molar mass

Using the coefficients in the balanced equation, convert moles CuCl2.2H2O to moles CuCl2. That's a 1:1 ratio.

Now convert moles CuCl2 to grams CuCl2. Grams = moles x molar mass. That will be the theoretical yield of CuCl2.
