How might the state standards affect your planning and instruction for this subject? Provide an example of how you may implement one or two of these standards in the classroom

As a phys ed teacher in the early grades, you need to work on all of these standards.

For instance, for physical skill development, the students will play softball and basketball. Each student should be on small enough teams that they all get many opportunities to participate. They should also have much practice shooting baskets and playing catch or hitting balls to classmates. The teacher will act as coach, advising and helping individual students improve these skills.

As a Physical Education teacher in the early grades, I need to work on all of these standards. I will have to place the student into a small group. Breaking the students up into a small group it will allow the students to get the many opportunities to participate. For example if they were playing softball. We would need a catcher, pitcher, someone to cover each base, shortstop, 3 outfielders, and a few substitutes to fill in others. The students should practice hitting baseballs or playing catch with others. I myself the teacher, will act as a coach. I will help each individual student improve their skills and weaknesses.

how does that sound. i am about 91 words short. can you help me with more ideas please.

Your instructions say to choose one or two standards.

Choose another standard and tell how you will plan to be sure students meet these goals.

can we buy a hard cover book for this class?

The state standards for fourth grade Physical Education in Wisconsin can have a significant impact on your planning and instruction for this subject. These standards outline what students should be able to achieve by the end of fourth grade, and they provide guidance on the knowledge and skills that should be taught.

For example, one of the standards is "Leading an Active Lifestyle." To implement this standard in the classroom, you can help students identify different physical activities that they enjoy and explain the health benefits of each activity. You can have discussions with students about the physical activities they currently engage in and encourage them to think about activities they would like to improve their skills in. This can involve creating individualized fitness plans or allowing students to choose activities for skill development and well-being.

Another standard is "Physical Skill Development." To address this standard, you can design lessons and activities that focus on improving fundamental movement skills like throwing, catching, and kicking. You can provide opportunities for students to practice and demonstrate their progress in these skills. Additionally, you can introduce specialized movement skills such as passing a basketball to a moving teammate and provide guidance on how to execute these skills effectively.

By aligning your planning and instruction with the state standards, you ensure that you are teaching the necessary knowledge and skills to your fourth-grade students. You can use these standards as a framework to set learning objectives, design assessments, and create engaging and meaningful lessons that support their physical development, understanding of physical activity, and respect for diversity.
