How would I describe the lunar cycle in short terms?

The lunar cycle is the moon going through a variety of different segments. Is this good?

I think this definition from the Woodlands site above is better.

"The changing shape of the bright part of the Moon that we see is called its phase. "

thanks Ms. Sue :-)

You're welcome, Sara.

To describe the lunar cycle in short terms, you can say that it is the continuous change in the moon's appearance as viewed from the Earth. The lunar cycle consists of four main phases: new moon, first quarter, full moon, and last quarter. The cycle begins with the new moon, where the moon is not visible from Earth. Then, it progresses to the first quarter, where half of the moon is visible, followed by the full moon, where the entire face of the moon is visible. Finally, it reaches the last quarter, where half of the moon is visible again. This cycle repeats approximately every 29.5 days.
