Hi there, could you see if I have translated the English correctly into French.

1.) For the first time in my life, I feel completely lost. My strong beliefs and devotion to the law have led me down a path of desperation and loneliness. Let me explain why, long years ago I guarded a convict by the name of Jean Valjean, a man of extraordinary strength and power who broke parole when released from prison. To this day, I never thought that I would see him face to face again but now, five years later fate has brought me to find Valjean.

2.) After many failed attempts to meet Valjean, we ran into each other during the revolutionaries’ riot. Unarmed at the time, I was sure Valjean was going to kill me but to my surprise, Jean Valjean frees me. Why would he spare my life? Could Jean Valjean, an escaped prisoner be a good man? Thoughts of confusion trying to understand what had just happened began to fill my mind. But no matter what, the law was the law and Jean Valjean is a convict who must pay the penalty for his criminal past.

Non armés à l'époque, j'étais sûr Valjean allait me tuer, mais à ma grande surprise, Jean Valjean me libère.

3.) Later that day, we met again! This time, he was holding the body of an injured man. Valjean willfully turns himself but asks to help take the injured man to a hospital and to see his daughter one last time before he goes back to prison. While waiting for Valjean, I began to wander the streets of Paris. How could Jean Valjean be such a noble man? Arresting him would be such a dishonorable thing to do but setting him free would be against the law. For the first time in my life, to act lawfully would mean acting immorally. Lost with uncertainty, my only option now is death.

Thank you. I really appreciate your time and effort.

    1) "perdue" tells me that you must be feminine? Anonymous tells me nothing!

    de dévouement = le dévouement

pourquoi, il ya (run-on sentence) = pourquoi; il y a...

années j'ai gardé = années que j'ai gardées

Sorry, but my eyes simply will not slide up and down, up and down, etc. Therefore, I am printing out your post so that I can read it. I'll get back to you.
