find the electric field and direction 0.100 micrometer west of an electron (144000 N/C East)

im not sure if im converting it right.. 0.100 micrometer= 1x10^-6 m

  • physics -

    0.1 micrometer is 1 x 10^-7 m

    ke/r^2 = 8.99*10^9 * 1.60*10^-19/10^-14 = 143,840 N/C. The direction is towards the electron (East)

The answer you wrote is correct to three significant figures, but you converted 0.1 micrometer incorrectly
