I have a one page essay due tomorrow morning. I need someone to proof read this for me if you don't mind. I am looking to make sure i have everything in MLA format, correct grammar, etc and it sounds right. Any help would be so appreciated! Here goes.... The questions im answering in my essay (FYI) is what does Torvald feel for his wife and what are some of pet names he uses and what they really mean. Also, i had to find another piece A Doll House reminded me of as far as character and situation.

A Doll House, written by Henrik Ibsen, is set in the late 1800’s during the Christmas season. The play tells the story of a day in the life of a married couple, Torvald Helmer and Nora. Torvald seems to care about his wife, Nora, but he thinks of her as his possession or pet. Throughout the story, Torvald calls his wife pet names that come across to others as being signs of affection. These pet names seem to be flattering, but instead the names suggest that Torvald believes his wife is unintelligent and does not have a mind or voice of her own. . Pet names such as “my sweet little lark,” (page 1510) and “my squirrel,” (page 1509) suggests that Torvald looks at his wife as his pet or as his play toy. Most of the pet names begin with “my little” which also shows how Torvald thinks his wife as being below him. Torvald also uses these names in times where Nora is trying to voice her own opinion or thoughts. “You little, bewildered, helpless thing,” (page 1551) sums up how Torvald thinks of his wife.
The character and situation of A Doll House reminds me of a piece of literature works we have looked at this semester. For instance, A Raisin in the Sun has the same theme in that the characters are trying to establish and live out their own individual dreams and voice their own thoughts and opinions but unable to because of situations in their lives. Both A Raisin in the Sun and A Doll House themes are of a family’s everyday life and conflicts they have to overcome in order to find integrity and independence.

I cannot tell where one paragraph ends and another begins, but generally it reads relatively smoothly. Here are some corrections to be made:

-- title is "A Doll's House" -- note the possessive form; put the play's title in quotation marks

-- Torvald and Nora Helmer <~~since they're married, put the last name after both names, not just one.

-- delete the extra period between "own" and "Pet"

-- in parentheses, put only the page number, not the word "page"

-- delete the commas after "lark" and "squirrel" and "thing"

-- I suggest rephrasing these sentences to avoid wordiness: The character and situation of "A Doll's House" reminds me of another piece of literature we read this semester: "A Raisin in the Sun" has the same theme ... opinions, but are unable to ... The themes in both plays are about a family's ...
