A string that is 90cm long with a diameter of 0.75 mm and a tension of 60 N has a frequency of 100 Hz. What new frequency is heard when the length of the string is 100 cm long.

Anyone help me please?

assume fundamental transverse mode

frequency = v/2L
where v = speed of wave along string = sqrt(tension/mass per unit length)

here the mas per unit length and the tension are not changing so
frequency = constant/2L
100 = constant/180
so
constant = 18000
then
new frequency = constant / 200
new frequency = 18000/200
= 90 hz
