could you please help me

We were supposed to find three extended metaphors in this poem which I did but for one of them i don't know which quote to use because we are supposed to underline the indicators for that metaphor.

The one i need help on is the daughter being compared to the starling. I don't know which quote to use.

What have you identified so far besides the daughter/starling?

Of course, I'd be happy to help you! When looking for indicators of the extended metaphor comparing the daughter to a starling in the poem, you will need to identify specific quotes that describe or suggest similarities between the two. Here's how you can go about finding the appropriate quote:

1. Read the entire poem: Start by reading the poem from the beginning to end, paying attention to the imagery and descriptions used.

2. Look for references to the daughter: Identify any lines or stanzas in the poem that mention or describe the daughter. Look for words or phrases that might relate to the characteristics or behavior of a starling.

3. Look for references to the starling: Next, find lines or verses that mention or describe a starling. Look for words or phrases that might be linked to the daughter's characteristics or behavior.

4. Identify similarities: Once you have identified references to both the daughter and the starling, compare them to find similarities. Consider their physical appearance, behavior, or any other attributes that may be shared between the two.

5. Underline indicators: Finally, select the quote or quotes that contain words or phrases that suggest the comparison between the daughter and the starling. It should ideally contain indicators or clues pointing to the metaphor.

Remember that extended metaphors might not always have explicit comparisons, so you may need to consider subtle hints or symbolic language to make the connection clear. Trust your interpretation and choose the quote that you believe best supports the extended metaphor in comparing the daughter to a starling.

Feel free to provide me with lines or specific sections of the poem, and I'll be glad to assist you in finding the most suitable quote for the metaphor.
