I've started on my 'Daily' catalog poem:

Parents loving
Siblings fighting
The baby crying
The cat meowing

..Not sure how to put the rest in (house, food, ect.) and if I'm writing the catalog poem correctly..please help

Thanks
-MC

I think you need more details and imagery.

I'm not a poet, but you could write --

Parents loving their sometimes obstinate brood
Siblings fighting over inconsequential matters
Baby crying, expressing himself
Cat meowing, pleading for food

Ooops! I forgot. <g>

Hi MC! I'd be happy to help you with your catalog poem. A catalog poem is a type of poem that lists different objects, people, or images. It can be a great way to capture moments or feelings in a concise and impactful way.

Based on the lines you've started with, it seems like you're on the right track. To incorporate the rest of the elements into your poem, you can continue listing things that are part of your daily life. Here are a few suggestions:

- The house humming
- The smell of fresh coffee brewing
- Toast popping out of the toaster
- Sizzling bacon on the stove
- Pancakes flipping in the pan
- The sound of footsteps down the hallway
- The warmth of morning sunlight streaming through the windows
- The sound of water running in the shower
- Clothes rustling as you get dressed

Remember, the key to a catalog poem is capturing a variety of different images or moments. You can choose to focus on specific senses, such as sight, sound, smell, or touch. Experiment with different combinations until you feel like you've captured the essence of your daily experiences.

Furthermore, don't worry too much about strict rules when writing a catalog poem. You have the freedom to play with format, line breaks, and punctuation. The important thing is to convey the catalog-like quality and create a sense of familiarity or vividness.

I hope this helps! Feel free to experiment and have fun with your poem. Let me know if you have any other questions.
