im supposed to solve by the elimination method
5r-25=33
2r+5s=48

  • algebra -

    solve 5r-25=33 first, so move 35 over by adding it so 33+25. meaning now it would be 5r=58.then divide by 5 so r=11.6

    Then plug that into the other equation...2r+5s=48 so 2(11.6)+5s=48

    23.2+5s=48

    subtract 23.2 from both sides.

    5s=24.8

    divide by 5 on both sides.

    s=4.96

    final answers: r=11.6
    s=4.96
