This is what I've added to my expository essay on Phoebe Winterbottom to show a little more about her character:

When Phoebe does accepts her mother in the end, the reader sees a different side of her. After Mrs.Winterbottom leaves, Phoebe’s fear that her mother might not love her is made obvious, as it wasn’t in the beginning of the story when she was irritated by her. In the end, when she accepts Mrs.Winterbottom and her son, you see the affectionate side of Phoebe. Overall, I think Phoebe is a mysterious character; you don’t see how her personality is right away, you have to read on and understand her.

Is this OK?

Thanks

And after I choose three or four...put them in a paragraph to describe her?

Yes, overall, the addition you made to your expository essay on Phoebe Winterbottom helps to show a different side of her character. By highlighting her fear of not being loved by her mother and her eventual acceptance of her, you provide more depth to Phoebe's personality.

To make this section even stronger, you could consider including specific examples or moments from the story that support your observations. This will help strengthen your analysis and give the reader a clearer understanding of Phoebe's character development.

Additionally, you can further explain why Phoebe's personality is initially elusive and requires the reader to delve deeper into the story. This could involve discussing how other characters' perceptions of her change throughout the narrative, or how the author intentionally unfolds Phoebe's true character over time. By providing more context and analysis, you can enhance the overall effectiveness of your essay.

Remember, it's important to support your claims with evidence from the text to strengthen your analysis. A well-structured and supported essay will help you convey your interpretation of Phoebe's character to your readers effectively.

Good luck with your essay, and if you have any more questions, feel free to ask!

I think you can do better.

Please go through the long list of character traits that I posted, and decide upon three or four that apply to Phoebe.
