Write an equation in standard form for the line through (9, -2) and (13, -8)

Do I solve this by doing y2-y1/x2-x1. That would give me the slope and then plug in the 13 for the x and -8 for the y?

slope = (-8 + 2)/(13-9) = -6/4 = -3/2

then y+8 = (-3/2)(x-13)
multiply by 2
2y + 16 = -3(x-13)
2y + 16 = -3x + 39
3x + 2y = 23

plug in (9,-2) to see if it works, it does!
