How can the country best prepare for the changing race and ethnicity of its current and future citizens?

We can best prepare for our changing race and ethnicity by continuing to do what we've always done -- eventually accepting everyone as worthwhile individuals and fellow citizens.

Throughout our history, each new immigrant group has been shunned for a couple of generations. The grandchildren of the immigrants have almost always been assimilated into the American society.

Unfortunately, it has taken longer for African-Americans to be accepted -- but that has more to do with the institution of slavery than any inherent race or ethnicity problem.
