mole can be abreviated as mol right??

    I think you mean that the symbol for the mole is mol, which is correct. Note that you are correct in that in line with other symbols there is no dot or period after the symbol. In the same way m is the sybmol for metre, s is the symbol for second, and A is the symbol for ampere.
