how do you solve negative 1 and 1/3f= negatvie 5/9?

1 1/3 f = 5/9
change 1 1/3 to an improper fraction, which will be 4/3.
So 4/3 f =  5/9
Multiply both sides of the equation by 3/4. Doing this makes the coefficient of f become 1.
Thus (4/3)(3/4) f = (5/9)(3/4)
1f =  5/12
