Im 16 years old im not actually really doing well in school. I cut way too many classes till this point have 5 overall credits. My guidance consuler told me that i have to take another year and this upcoming summer school i can't go cause i have way to many cuts.

I really want to get back on track and get somewhere in my future where i feel comfortable what im doing. What can i do?

16? You need to change your habits and work attitudes. Cutting means avoiding responsibility. I don't think anyone can do that but you. If drugs or emotional problems are existing, you have to solve that.

OK... you need a PLAN! not just "I'm going to do better." Ask your guidance couselor to sit down with you and help you WRITE a detailed plan of how you are going to solve this problem. You are going to have to ask youself some hard questions... why do you cut class, why do you not do your homework.

Then you are going to have to answer those questions honestly...and decide how to quit doing the harmful habits and get yourself organized.

This is NOT an easy task, and as bobpursley says, you may need help in changing your responses. However.... if one supposes that you are going to live to be 80 (average American age) then you have about 64 years that you don't want to waste.

Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."

God is always on your side, you just have to allow Him in your heart. I will be praying that you get back on track. But please remember, if you have God in your heart you never have to do this alone.

It's great that you have recognized the need to get back on track and work towards a comfortable future. Here are some steps you can take to improve your situation:

1. Take Responsibility: Acknowledge your past actions and take responsibility for them. Understand that your academic performance is ultimately your own responsibility.

2. Assess Your Situation: Reflect on why you have been cutting classes and not performing well. Are there any underlying issues, such as difficulty with a particular subject, lack of motivation, or personal challenges? Identifying these will help you develop a plan to address them.

3. Create a Study Schedule: Establish a structured study routine that includes specific time allocated for each subject. Divide your study time based on the difficulty level of the subjects, dedicating more time to the ones you struggle with the most.

4. Seek Help: Reach out to your teachers and let them know about your desire to improve. Seek their guidance on how to catch up on missed material and ask for additional support if needed. You can also ask them for extra resources or recommendations for tutoring services.

5. Set Realistic Goals: Set achievable short-term and long-term goals for your academic progress. Start with small goals, such as improving your attendance and completing assignments on time, and gradually work towards bigger goals, like earning enough credits to graduate on time.

6. Attend Summer School, if Possible: If attending summer school is an option for you in the future, make it a priority to attend and catch up on missed credits. This will help you stay on track academically.

7. Seek Additional Educational Options: If summer school is not available, consider alternatives like online courses or credit recovery programs. These can help you make up missed credits and continue progressing towards your academic goals.

8. Utilize Youth Programs: Look for youth programs or community initiatives that offer academic support, mentorship, or career guidance. These resources can provide you with guidance and encouragement to succeed academically.

9. Stay Persistent and Motivated: The process of getting back on track may require effort and dedication. Stay committed, stay motivated, and remind yourself of your desire for a better future whenever you feel discouraged.

10. Learn from Past Mistakes: Use this experience as a learning opportunity. Understand the consequences of cutting classes and make a promise to yourself to prioritize your education and make better choices moving forward.

Remember, it's never too late to make a positive change. With determination, effort, and seeking support when needed, you can turn things around and set yourself on a path towards success in the future.
