1. I am like my father.
2. I look like my father.
3. I am similar to my father.
4. I take after my father.
5. I resemble my father.

(Are they all the same? Which ones are the same as #1?)

    1, 3, and 4 are about the same.

    2, 4, and 5 are about the same.

    As you can see, 4 is the overlap! The word "resemble" can be taken either as BEING like someone else or LOOKING like someone else.
