I need help on this problem:

8+9-10
I just don't understand if you do that 8+9 part first or the 9-10 part first
Can you just tell me the steps to it? Thanks!

It doesn't matter.

8+9-10=17-10=7 or
8+9-10=8-1=7

Does it make a difference?

8+9-10 =

8 + 9 = 17
17 - 10 = 7

Or --
9 - 10 = -1
8 - 1 = 7

OK Thank you!

Of course, I'd be happy to help you with that problem!

To correctly solve this problem, we need to follow the order of operations, which is commonly known as PEMDAS (Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication and Division from left to right, and Addition and Subtraction from left to right).

In your case, there are no parentheses or exponents, so we can move on to the multiplication and division step. Again, there are none, so we proceed to addition and subtraction.

Here are the steps to follow:

Step 1: Start with the addition part: 8 + 9 = 17.
Step 2: Move on to the subtraction: 17 - 10 = 7.

Therefore, the answer to the problem 8 + 9 - 10 is 7.

Remember, when solving equations or problems, always follow the order of operations to ensure accuracy.
