I am so sorry SraJMcGi but i have the other half of my project that i just finished. Do you mind checking if i have translated it correctly. Your help is greatly appreciated.

    3. retourne = to go back in time, you might like "remonte"... où les cuirs et les peaux commercés par Djiboutiens = (looking at your English) quand les Djiboutiens échangeaient les cuirs et les peaux pour, etc.

    4. partie ont consacré = check the English. This is in apposition = partie consacrée...Afar = au loin = loin orale = orale au loin...(If I understand your English!)...

    5. est l'un = est un, etc.

    6. le fonctionnement = that's for machinery. You need "la course"... le coureur de marathon retiré = (word order) = le coureur retiré de marathon

    7. l'Italien et d'autres nourritures = you're talking about food so the noun comes first = la nourriture italienne et d'autres européenes...Un dispositif notable = that's a photographic slide; you need "un trait" or "une caractéristique" ..... du qat narcotique léger de feuille. = word order = de la légère feuille narcotique le qat (or something similar)
