Could you give me examples of action verbs, linking verbs and helping verbs?

  • Language Arts -

    Action verbs:

    run, think, jump, wonder, walk, swim, believe

    Joe ran three miles today.
    I think about him all of the time.

    Linking verbs:
    is, are, was, were, feel, seem
    Mr. Teremi is my favorite teacher.
    My parents felt sick about my grandmother's death.

    Helping verbs:
    is, are, was, were, should, have, has would, might, may, do, does, did
    He was going to California last week.
    You should have seen the expression on your face.
