My face is red but I hope to get help with this little problem?

To get a discount, I bought 31 bottles of olive oil.

I used them from 11-5-07
through 12-15-09

and I need to know how many bottles I used per month. Do I divide the 31 bottles by 12?

I will appreciate someone's help a lot! Thanks ever so much!

You used them during a period of time longer than a year, right? How many months total? From 11/7/07 - 11/7/09 = 24 months. Then add another 1.3333 months (from 11/7/09-12/15/08 = about 1 1/3 months, right?)

So you'd divide the number of bottles of olive oil by the TOTAL number of months.

Right? What do you get?

Thanks so much! So then I would divide the 31 bottles by 25.33 months? I get with my little adding tablet: 1.2238. Is it right, like one bottle and almost 1/3?

Thank you a lot again!!! :o) Rosedala

Right! :-)

To determine how many bottles of olive oil you used per month, you need to calculate the total number of months between the start and end dates, and then divide the total number of bottles (31) by that number.

First, calculate the total number of months between 11-5-07 and 12-15-09. To do this, you can count the number of full years between the dates and then add the remaining months.

Between November 2007 and December 2009, there are 2 full years (2008 and 2009). Each year has 12 months, so the total for the full years is 2 x 12 = 24 months.

Now, calculate the remaining months. The start date is 11-5-07, and the end date is 12-15-09. Counting the months on a calendar, you can see that there are 11 months in 2007 and 12 months in 2009, excluding the overlapping months with the full years. Therefore, the remaining months are 11 + 12 = 23.

Next, calculate the total number of months by adding the full years to the remaining months: 24 + 23 = 47 months.

Finally, divide the total number of bottles (31) by the total number of months (47): 31 / 47 ≈ 0.66.

Therefore, you used approximately 0.66 bottles of olive oil per month during the period from 11-5-07 to 12-15-09.

Please note that the result is rounded to two decimal places.
