I'm writing a paper in microsoft word, but I am having problem with the spacing of my paragraphs. I want the paper to be double space, but the paragraphs seems to be more than double space. Is there a way to change this?

If you already have your paper set to be double spaced, make sure you're NOT hitting the Enter key more than once after the end of a paragraph.

How did you get the file set for double spacing? Did you type a few single-spaced lines and then press Ctrl + 2 -- I hope you did that. But still ... don't press that Enter key more than once at the end of a paragraph to start a new one.

You can also tell what you have done by clicking on the paragraph button () on the toolbar at the top of the screen. If you see extra paragraph marks at the left margin, you'll know you hit the Enter key too many times.

correction:

Did you type a few single-spaced lines and then press Ctrl + A and then Ctrl + 2 ...

To check the paragraph spacing that you have. Highlight a paragraph with the curser.

Go to the tool bar and click on
<Format>
<paragraph>
This will bring up a box that shows the current settings for the paragraph spacing. Adjust the spacing from here.

Yes, there is a way to change the spacing of paragraphs in Microsoft Word. Here's how you can adjust the spacing to achieve double spacing:

1. Select the paragraphs you want to change the spacing for. You can do this by clicking and dragging your cursor over the paragraphs or by pressing Ctrl + A to select the entire document.

2. Go to the "Home" tab in the Microsoft Word ribbon at the top of the screen.

3. Look for the "Paragraph" section on the right side of the "Home" tab.

4. In the "Paragraph" section, you will see a small icon that looks like an arrow pointing downwards in the bottom-right corner. Click on this icon to open the "Paragraph" settings window.

5. In the "Paragraph" settings window, you will find the "Spacing" section. Under the "Line spacing" dropdown menu, select "2.0" to set the line spacing to double. This will ensure that there is a full blank line between paragraphs.

6. If you want to apply this new line spacing to the entire document, click on the "Set as Default" button at the bottom left of the "Paragraph" settings window. This will make the double spacing the default setting for all new documents in the future.

7. Once you have adjusted the settings, click the "OK" button to apply the changes.

By following these steps, you should be able to change the spacing of your paragraphs to double space in Microsoft Word.
